The Spitzer case was a classic tragedy. South Park did a great job of addressing this in a recent episode. Some that have weaknesses for specific vice are the ones trying to eradicate them, because they know the evils they can present. As I get older, I see less "offensiveness" and more human tragedy in these cases. Poor guy just had to ruin his life, ruin his family's life....it's sad.

Even so, as all this came to light, there was no way he could stay in his position. Perhaps one day, sexual addiction will be treated similarly to alcohol addiction, where he could actually come out in the beginning and say "I have deviant tendencies, which is why I got into this business in the first place. I deal with my issues every day. Now let's bust some whores!"

Anyway, I find it hard to think about the sexual crimes in a ranked sort of way. Perhaps, as Moonliner points out, it's the public funding that's the real rub........ha, rub, get it?
