Running Vista (not by choice), there is a sidebar for widgets. One of the things I have running is a news stream with headlines. Since the sidebar is limited in space, the headlines are almost always truncated. While the actual news story is depressing, I am enjoying seeing "5 blow themselves..." come up in rotation.
