| I'm supposed to give an answer tomorrow. At first I wasn't going to consider the job because it's with financial management and I don't want to do fiscal any more - and I'm concerned that if I take the same kind of job I have now it will really look like I just abandoned my law degree -- a potential problem if I decide to leave the program or not continue in government work. Plus, they offered rock bottom salary.
But, they also offered relocation expenses, a 9K signing bonus, and have already upped the offer once, and say that if I submit a competitive offer they will consider it in a recalculation.

Plus, I talked to them more today and 1) the financial management department works with all the giant bids and, while the contracts department does more, the financial management department also does a lot of legal research. Most of their people have never had exposure to case law, so it's a big learning curve. Apparently they are all excited about maybe getting a combo legal/fiscal mind. 2) we are not "locked in" to our initial areas. If I hate it, I can move to a different area - like contracts, space policy, etc...

So, I'm giving it serious consideration.
