Greetings from Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal! The rainforest is all around and if we listen closely, we can hear the birds sing in the canopy. We should enter the Miraflores locks around 3pm PST. There are live webcams at pancanal.com and other sites. We skipped the special premiere of Prince Caspian so we could be up at 4am to get a good spot on deck to see the Gatun locks, but there are 3 more showings tonight. It is now 11am and the deck BBQ has just started. It is extremely humid and hot. The crew keep reminding us to stay hydrated. Off to grab some kabobs and ribs now.
