it takes a little getting used to admittedly. you dont just leap into bed, thats for sure. at least not twice

mine is about 6-8" thick plain cotton mat with a memory foam pad on top. beyond that, its pretty much resting on a rig much like the one you brought to camp. a frame and some boards across it to hold. bottom line...a table.

love it. 90% of my back issues went away after I got it. at this point I can't imagine sleeping on a springy mattress (or god forbid some squishy thing) again. probably why I slept so well in that truck bed.
