If you want to buy a multiple ticket, you will have to decide if you want multiples from Irvine-Anaheim or from Irvine - LA. The Irvine - LA is more expensive since it is on multiple train lines.

I would think there would be a way to buy multiples for the Irvine - Anaheim and then pay for the additional fare of the line you transfer to in the LA area.

It will be easier to figure out the best deal if you give an idea of what your usage/month would be. A monthly pass gives you unlimited rides, but it is usually meant for a weekly commuter, so if you aren't traveling that often it might be a better deal to go with the 10 ticket pack.
