The internets are deceiving you. The fastest guys in the baja 1000 can barely make it to Cabo/La Paz in that short a time. Do you have a Pro Truck or a motorcycle?
Rocky Point is certainly closer. If you felt adventurous and wanted to take the Ferry over, I really like
Santa Rosalia. I have never been to Rocky Point, if it's only a 4 hour drive, give it a try. You haven't invested that much time, and you can always drive back. You may also discover what you are looking for nearby.
