I had the same problem and FINALLY (after hours of googling) found a solution that worked:
Go to the following directory:
c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\
There should be a file named FlashUtil9f.exe (or something very similar). Run it and it *should* fix the problem.
There's a couple of other things you can try if that doesn't work. You can find them
