That's a pity. I enjoyed reading The Brave Little Toaster (and seeing the movie as well) and I also read and enjoyed his horror novel The M.D. I know he has a lot of science fiction titles worth catching up on, and an upcoming novel entitled The Word of God. (That's intriguing.) A cursory scan of his bio reveals that he lost his partner just a few years ago and had been suffering from depression ever since. Sometimes, an artist's suicide casts too long a shadow on that person's work thereafter, which is too bad. What little I've read of Disch had considerable wit and style.
