Not sure if this post belongs in the geek-out thread or not, but Steve Coogan created the character of Alan Partridge as the sportscaster for a radio show called "On The Hour", a news spoof by Chris Morris. On the Hour went to TV as "The Day Today" and Alan Partridge went with it. Steve revived the AP character for a BBC radio show called "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which begat the TV series of the same name. Following KMKY, Alan Partridge appeared in "I'm Alan Partridge", which was so popular that Coogan revived the character for a second series.
In between all of the shows, Alan Partridge made several appearances on charity shows as well as turning up in Steve Coogan's multi-character stand-up show, "The Man Who Thinks He's It". Alan's incredible Kate Bush medley in that show is not to be missed.
