So where have I been?

Well on thursday I was "hired" to bring in my DJ equipment and play some music at tghe private school for kids with special needs in town (my mom is the Secretary there). So on Wednesday night I had to drag out all of my stuff and get it all together, make sure I had all the stuff the kids liked, and got a good night's sleep (or at least tried to). I really had no idea what was going to happen because the nice teenagers who hired me never told me what I was going to be doing exactly and what my duties were. I would learn later that thye had my number and lost it.

So I woke up at 6 AM and did the final prep work and loaded it up in my mom's station wagon. At 8 AM it was off to the school. I met up with the very sweet Teenage volunteers who hired me. they are really girls after my own heart. they wanted to help raise money for the school to help pay the book fees for the students. So they set up wagon rides, a drink/snack stand, and karaoke to help raise the money. Parents sent their kids in with money and they piad the girls as everything transpired.

It was hot, humid, and sticky with temps in the 90's. Thank goodness I had the forsight to realize that whatever was going down would happen outdoors and brought a hat and plenty of sunscreen. That did not help my equipment though so I am glad for a pause in the action and i moved my stuff (sans speakers) inside a trailer. The kids had a blast and I did too (despite having to play the High School Musical 2 Soundtrakc ad nausium for three hours (that's what the girls wanted me to play so I did). The final talley ended up being around $125. The girls slipped me a few dollars but I later slipped them back in the bucket.

As for the rest of Thursday I took the evening fo R&R. It was fun but stressful and emotionally exhausting. Not only did I have the gig but I got called a few times by fellow DJ's on the Radio Station about drama that I didn't need to deal with (read I didn't want to hear about it...there has been too much crap and drama surrounding things there for the past month). In addition to that Charter finally came to install Cable and didn't have the right equipment. Ugh!

Yesterday I went to lunch with my Great Uncle and destressed. Thank goodness Charter came and made things right. We finally have Cable again after 11 days of nothing.

So that's what's been up with me. I missed you guys for the past three days (from Wednesday evening to now).
