Whew! We are still recovering, but had a great time this year. It was an unusual con experience for us: we almost never left the table, and we really were not interested in the party scene this year (the Weta/Lucasfilm/Dark Horse/Gentle Giant bash was just awful -- overrun by obnoxious industry 20-somethings with cell phones glued to their hands -- we only stayed about 20 minutes).
Being stuck at the table allowed us to people-watch (the steampunk ghostbusters!) and chat with visitors (Fej, Captain Jack, Ponine, Bornieo, mousepod -- hope I didn't forget anyone) in a pretty relaxed way. We made enough to pay off our credit cards (wooo!), and were able to set up some potential gigs for hubby.
It was crazy-crowded, but it can't get any worse now as they've hit the attendance ceiling. We liked being set up near one of the front doors -- I imagine if we'd been back in Artist's Alley we'd have been quite miserable. We had a few small complaints (hubby was not really treated like a GoH, the studios have practically driven comics out of the show, blah, blah, blah) but none of that was a surprise since we've been attending regularly for so many years and pretty much knew what to expect.
Only one thing left me nonplussed: those weird, persistent lines for things. "Con exclusives?" Huh? I don't get it. I was hoping one of the Disney folk would start a line to nowhere near them...
