Once you file the ficticious business name with the County clerk, they will give you several of the copies of the filing with their stamp on it...one of them is for the newspaper that you publish the name in, the other copy is for your financial institutions...now if I am remembering correctly, you get all those copies the same day that you file the name with the county clerk, so you could conceivably open the account the same day you file the paperwork with the county clerk. Just don't forget to handle the paper stuff too, as the paper will send you and usually the county clerk proof that it was published. I may be mistaken, but in any case, get down to the county clerks office and handle this asap. It's really a quick process, should only take a few minutes of your time.
