In the past they haven't. Logic would say they won't start now since one of the reasons for free incomming text messages was the ability to spam. However they will start charging for all incomming text messages, be it from a friend or from other types of spam/advertising. I don't think there is a huge concern about being charged for messages from the company since it is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
