It'll probably save them from a fate worse than death when they're older. God forbid little johnny becomes one of those "flamboyant" types.

I guess the best we can hope for is that enlightened parents hear of this and don't sign the form to allow their child to attend. But as the Bigot points out, he'll still get trade from plenty more folks. Is it worth turning your kid into a political statement? I guess it depends on how old they are and how much they're willing to put up with stick from their school-mates: "Johnny didn't go to the apple farm because his parents are Homo Lovers" etc. etc.

Things like this make me so angry because I get the whole "down-about-being-Gay" thing happening, and wishing I was Het like the Majority, and how much easier life would be, but then I stop and think, well, Things would have been a lot different, and I wouldn't have had a lot of the wonderful parts of my life so far, and I wouldn't be with my fabulous Stoat of 9 years (Longer than a lot of Het marriages), whom I love more than anything in the world, and I realise that being Gay isn't so bad, it's just that the 'Majority' needs to see that, too.

Phew. I haven't made a post like this for a long time. Thanks for listening.

Ok I'll take this a bite at a time, unfortunately little Johnny and Janies parents get a note home, Class field trip to an apple farm sign here...the majority don't look any further than that. It's not that they support that foul excuse for a christian human but they just don't research it because they assume the school has. The teachers aren't looking political they're looking at something the school board might approve and craptastic people like this get away with slipping thru by putting their politics on blogs and crap that the average person might never see. Doesn't make it a bit more 'correct' or right or whatever and I agree with slamming their blogs with counter measures.

I had someone come to the door about 8 recently and I just laughed and said you walk your walk I'll walk mine and we'll see how things end up at the end of the day...I'll laugh and love my friends and be a happier person for having them in it and you'll spend your days villifiing people you've never met....I think I'm the winner here.

LB, I wish I could hug you when you get into that 'down' mode because I know your path is the 'harder' one for mainstream living, but like you've already pointed out, you wouldn't be with Stoat whom we all adore, you wouldn't be YOU if you were het, you'd be Rob the straight guy big whoop...we'd all still adore you but every thing about you is the sum total of the man we all adore to include your gayness. If loving you and GC has taught me anything at all it's that in my world and I know I'm not alone on this...you guys are my friends who happen to be gay, NOT Gay men who I happen to know...most of us feel that about our friends who happen to be gay.
