Oy.
Soooo...
Where to begin. First, the dentist. After getting that wisdom tooth that was causing me horrific pain pulled, and having one appointment for a return checkup postponed by the dentist, I finally got in yesterday. First checkup in 8 years. Surprise, surprise, the news was not good. Doctor came in, asked if I was having any pain, which I'm not. He looked at my X-rays, then a look inside my mouth, and said, "Uuuh, are you sure you don't have any pain?" Yeah, that bad. Minimum 3 cavities (baring finding collateral damage once the drilling begins), one almost to the nerve. My other 3 wisdom teeth are all over the place and will require a trip to the oral surgeon. And I'm sure I've got some degree of periodontal disease. See, this is why I don't go to the dentist. Okay, maybe this is the result of me not going to the dentist. Maybe.
But my gums don't bleed when I brush or floss, that counts for something right?
And on top of all that, I'm considering switching doctors 'cause, while this guy did an excellent job extracting my tooth, something about the way he does business rubs me the wrong way. He seems to be constantly trying to sell elective cosmetic procedures. As a matter of fact, his assistant admitted to me point blank that he has trained her to push them. That bugs me big time, especially when isntead of telling my all of my options for filling materials, he just put on a video about gold fillings and left the room. So I don't know.
Meanwhile, I'm sick. Gots me a cold, I'm on day 3. It seems to be progressing quickly, only 1 day of sore throat (I've had sore throats that last a week, it's miserable), one day of minor stuffiness, and last night was major congestion and coughing. Today, I'm floating through work on daytime Tylenol cold, wee. I've been chugging OJ, taking my multivitamin, and sucking down cold-eze like nobody's business. My goal is to be healthy by tomorrow because I've got birthday festivities for this weekend. Nothing worse than being sick on your birthday.
