When I was in that area on the 6th, it was full of people pretty much immediately after the parade went by.
(He meant May, folks).

Last night, it was in the same spot. We had seats (well, ground space) right in front of it, and can attest to the fabulous view. That night, once the parade was over, they first CLEARED the hub, roped off the premium seating area, THEN let people back into the hub to grab spots for 'works viewing. It also appeared that they had left a small roped off walkway behind and the right (facing the castle) of the premium seating area along the planter to allow easy access for people in and out.

Also, if you have trash and don't feel like wading through the crowd to get rid of it, just leave it just inside the premium seating rope. It'll be taken care of

It seems that right now they're just playing it by ear with crowd control. With the Regis and Kathy stage still blocking the front of the castle, it was impossible to come up with any sort of consistent policy. On Friday they were allowing people to hang out on the front edge of the hub (on the sidwalk outside the hub) for hours beforehand, while on Sunday they had that the front quarter of the outside ring of the hub roped off until just before the parade started. I'm sure they're itching to get rid of that stage so they can get to devising a more permanent crowd control solution.
