For Christmas this year, we embarked on a snow-to-surf expedition. First up, a drive up to Los Padres National Forest, where it was snowing:
We tried to build a snowman, but he's fallen and can't get up:
Getting off the mountain was tricky, as the drivers in front of us were completely freaked about the trace amount of accumulation on the roadway and kept us to a brisk 5 mph the rest of the way out of the woods. We stopped partway down to get another photo:
Once we got back to the highway, we headed south and stopped in Santa Monica to walk down to the beach and watch the sunset:
It's not a good photo, but here's the proof that we made it to the beach:
