Well, I am stymied. I push fn and F8 and "Presentation Mode is OFF" and 'No external display is attached." I selected for Pre mode to be on. I suspect it has everything to do with the dock. I will try pluggging the monitor in directly (which will defeat the purpose of mobility)....
Also, I can see the mousepointer when I move it off the screen of the laptop on the monitor. So clearly, I think I've missed some instruction, or it's the dock.
In any case, hard wired to the modem, which sped things up a great deal
The wireless keyboard and mouse are a tad sluggish
