Wendy's finger suspect extradicted to San Jose

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The woman who said she found a finger in a bowl of chili in a Wendy's restaurant has been extradited from Las Vegas to San Jose, California, to face charges for the incident, police said on Saturday.
Enrique Garcia, a spokesman for the San Jose Police Department, said Anna Ayala has been booked into the local Santa Clara County jail after being transferred from the custody of Las Vegas police.
Ayala attracted nationwide media attention after saying in March that she bit into a finger in a bowl of chili served at a San Jose Wendy's.
Ayala is set to be arraigned on charges of attempted grand theft for the millions of dollars Wendy's International Inc. lost as a result of negative publicity. David Boyd, a county prosecutor, told local newspapers that Ayala could be arraigned as early as Monday.
Police believe she planted the finger in her food. Ayala has said she did not put the finger in the chili served to her by the third-largest U.S. hamburger chain. The origins of the finger remain a mystery.
