Well our crappy local Home Depot didn't have any other metal cutting option for a circ saw, so abrasive wheel it was. The pipes (closet rod, actually) are only 1/16" thick, so I figured it'd be fine. And it was! Once I got over my initial terror at being showered with sparks, it cut through no problem. Fun!!!

And other than some minor redesigns due to bizarre wall stud spacing, necessitating a couple extra Home Depot runs, the closet build went totally smoothly. Got it about 99% done today.

Friday the 13th seems to have changed my home improvement luck.
