Unless you are in "Society" (which I don't thiink any of us here would qualitfy for ) you probably won't see a "Black-Tie" wedding. It just doesn't happen much on here the left coast.

One could presume that the invite wasn't a "Black-Tie" type, otherwise, the OP would have been unneccessary.
