Moot does not equal mute.
Moot - as in what a cow says with a t on the end meaning obsolete.
Mute - as in what a kitten says with a t on the end meaning unable to speak.
Why is this so hard?
I feel compelled to correct them when they use mute instead of moot. "That's a mute point" they say... and I want to ask if the point was verbal before or if this is something new.
