We went out to mom's today, to try and pack up more stuff and hopefully catch her kitty, Scruffy- he escaped when the police and coroner were there, and he's been roaming around outdoors ever since. (Two weeks now). Her other cat Sissy was caught by the Humane Society, and we told them that if she couldn't be adopted out to call us, as one of us would take her. Well, today we finally got Scruffs; he was down in the carport area meowing, and he finally worked up the courage to come up to the apartment. We gave him lots of food, water and hugs, and he was one happy little boy. Bobbi is going to take him in- he's adorable (big, fluffy beige cat with huge paws) and I think he'll be fine. The neighbor was feeding him, so he didn't lose too much weight. After we left the apartment, I felt about a thousand times better than I have since this whole thing started- I've literally been worried sick about him, but tonight my stomach has settled down and I am so relieved. I just couldn't bear the thought of him out in the cold rain, confused about where mom went and what happened to his home. Anyway, more good news when we got home- the HS called and said they'd just placed Sissy in a new home. Yeah! Poor kitties.....at least now they'll both be okay. I'll post a pic of Scruffy when my phone recharges- he's pretty danged cute.
