Yes PetSmart has adoptions for dogs on Sundays usually. If you are looking for a small dog smallish dog you could start there. It is a commitment and a long term one.

You could also check a local shelter (especially if it isn't a no kill one as there are dogs on dealth row there needing homes).

There are rescue groups out there too i found a chihuahua rescue group that is located in Burbank.

i just want to add that when CM and I adopted Lucy and Ethel we didn't care what kind of dogs they were at the time. We were ready to get a dog and they just so happened to be needing a home. I can't imagine my life without them in it and i do not want to go with a big breed dog again after having them. I love small dogs.
