I would much rather prefer a health-care system that is not focused on curing people who are chronically sick, but preventing it. The sicker we get in this country the more the cost of health care rises. The more we focus on preventative care the lower the cost will be.

However if we must be forced with "Socialized Medicine" I am willing to compromise at basic care - checkups, minor illnesses, vision and dental checkups, basic antibiotics for minor ailments, etc. Health Insurance should be designed for emergencies and chronic conditions.

(and that's my political view for the moment...as you can tell I hesitate to express mine because I know I am pretty much alone here)

Anyway the answer to your first question is yes. I have suggested a six month stay. I currently pay $300.00 to my folks. Counting a bonus stimulus (of which I have mixed feelings about) it would be more like seven months (without paying rent). This would allow me some freedom to breath and accumulate some savings at the end of the grace period. I live from month-to-month on the Disability. The rent takes away more than half of what I get. So at present I end the month pretty much broke. If accepted, at the end of the six months I'd actually make $150.00 and I wouldn't be back in the same position at the end of the month like I do now.

Yes this was very hard. I made a giant step today towards where I want to be later.
