I don't know if you meant to infer that omegle is for social networking, but there's really no way to use it as such. I logged on last night and talked to people all over the world. I guess you could attempt to swap info and become real friends, but I don't see it happening often.
I see this more as a throwback to good old anonymous chat, as opposed to the super-linked lives we currently have online. I fully endorse such random interactions, where you can create yourself anew with each click.
