I agree with this observation, the entire finale did have a sorta Deus ex machina sort of feel to it....from Bernard/Rose/Vincent being "retired" to Juliet changing her mind about an H-bomb based on a glance

Perhaps, but I sort of get the feel that the writers placed the clues before they really knew what they were clues for.
