Fantasia is a big favorite of mine, too ... so I trust you will appreciate how it burned me to make the viewing experience so unpleasant with this change in the form of a misguided restoration.

I suppose it's similar to the misguided restoration of the replacement orchestral score that was used for a time. A nice idea for when technology could not restore the original ... but ultimately NOT the Fantasia created by Walt Disney and his artists.

By that token, if if these abominable interstertials were ever used, the now-dubbed voice makes it Not-Fantasia.

Have you ever watched the DVD version?

Oh, and btw - I nearly squeed my pants when they restored the original soundtrack and put back in a few bits of the Pastoral Symphony segment that had been censored out over the years. I'm all for restoring Fantasia to its original state.

I have it and have not viewed it in a long, long time. I hated the re-done soundtrack and grew up with the original Stowkowski versions.

As I said, I am hopeful that Disney will do right by Fantasia.

Now, how about the blu-ray on Sleeping Beauty??? I have the platinum edition on regular DVD. Ack, it is times like this I hate being a Libra, 100% unable to make a decision.
