I'll go you one further. I thought
Dead Man's Chest was three hours of misery, and only looks as good as it does because
World's End was so much worse.
This next film can succeed if it gets back to basics (actual piracy, which was almost totally lacking in the 2nd and 3rd films, character-driven humor, clearly staged action in which the stakes are clear and compelling - all things the first movie achieved nicely.)
