Seriously, it can be used in many ways. I use it to keep in contact with friends who live across the country and globe. A friend in MN has been posting (uploading) photos of his little girl. It's been really neat seeing her go from newborn to toddler. I've made friends in Canada and Australia and now we can keep up with each other and remain in contact (more contact than random emails - it's nearly instant) by status updates and wall postings (think Tweets and @replies).

I joined Facebook because I have one good friend who doesn't use Twitter (but does use Facebook) and because my son uses it and he never calls me. When I signed up one of the first friend suggestions was a girl I knew in elementary school and junior high. I remember swimming in her pool once. But why do I want to be in touch with her now?

If I can ever get around to it I want to post pictures there but otherwise I prefer the brevity of Twitter.
