If it can move at 90mph I would assume it also has some type of vectoring for the drive exhaust (assumed since I don't see an propellers) that would allow steering.
Hydrogen as a medium for lift has a bad rap. While it burns quite energetically when mixed with air, you could climb up into the hydrogen envelope and have a smoke without causing any problems (other than your own suffocation and the cigarette/match refusing to light).
