My next puzzlement:

What was Widmore trying to accomplish with the bombardment of Team Flocke?

1) I don't think bombs really hurt this thing....

2) If Widmore is just trying to kill Flockes followers; why use non-lethal tranquilizers when taking Jin?

3) Could he have been trying to kill Jack?
