I will say that, despite what you see in this video, this guy was very lucky. Usually in an incident like this, one loses either his arm or his life. Recently, here in the LA area, in a similar incident (on a more modern and much faster press), a press operator got his arm stuck in a press in a similar fashion and
In the video, the press is a much older machine (I am guessing at least 30+ years) without today's modern safety guards.
I actually got my hand stuck in a press (albeit, a much smaller one) 25+ years ago. Thankfully, my hand was enough to seize the press, but it did split the skin on my hand and break a finger. The guy who pulled me out of the press had actually lost a finger to the same machine a couple of years before my accident. When he went to hand-turn the press to pull me out, he accidentally turned the wheel the wrong direction and started to pull me in further. Needless to say, he didn't get very far
