Last night we went down to the Gaslamp Quarter an walked around. We picked an Italian restaurant called d'Medici based on the menu. The interior was "Fancy Restaurant Cliche". Rococo chairs with gold brocade, "Venician" plaster walls, Crystal chandeliers, silver chargers, waiters right out of a Godfather movie...etc. They took our drink orders. I ordered lemonade; and when it came, I was a little concerned that it tasted just like Countrytime Lemonade Mix. With more than a little trepidation, we ordered. When the food came and we tasted it, all our fears went out the window. It was marvelous!
Today we went back to Balboa Park to the San Diego Art Museum. There are two exhibits there right now that we wanted to see; Heroes: Mortals & Myths in Ancient Greece and an exhibit on Toulouse-Lautrec. The Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit is huge, and well worth the visit. It was the highlight of our day.
After Lunch and finishing the museum we drove over to Hillcrest and walked around. We saw an "I (heart) Bacon" t-shirt in a store window. Bill said that I just had to get one, but the largest size they had was a large. Le sigh.
We're back in the hotel now. We haven't decided what to do for dinner yet. Tomorrow, we come home.
