Happy birthday, Jesse!
(I had this thought of writing a long dissertation on the history of birthday observances, the sisters who wrote the Happy Birthday song and why you often hear some alternate song sung on TV or in movies, the Unbirthday song from Alice in Wonderland, the fact that many people in 12 step programs celebrate their anniversaries in those programs as "birthdays," all the freebies businesses give you because it's your birthday, how the tradition of gift giving began, what to give a diabetic instead of cake, how much money the birthday card and party decoration industries makes annually, and whether corporate "birthdays," such as Disneyland's, are genuine observances or crass marketing opportunities, and if it matters - but, I thought, "no," it's a post on a message board to say "Happy birthday" to my friend Jesse, not a podcast)
