My earliest memories of PV were from the 60's both of the wonderful cottages my Dad always drooled over, driving through the subsidence area and of Marineland (now the site of the new Terrenea Resort).

A little more research, looking at and comparing maps and photographs, has both Chris and I grounded on what was placed where in the area.

The fountain that is now at the entrance drive (on top of the cliff where we first drive in) is the same fountain shown in the pictures of the Resort. The actual resort was located at the base of the road.

The colonnade of palms that we walked down after getting ice cream was the Royal Palms Recreation Center developed by Roman Sepulveda in 1908. Those fireplaces and dance floor were a part of the Rec Center.

MacArthur Park has some other fascinating things to explore. There's nothing like old gun battlements to bring WWII back to life.
