I hear you, GD. My first scratch in my new car was only about a year old. Teresa, that apartment complex where you used to live. Backing out of the space I heard a noise but I thought it was just my antenna scraping the ceiling of the carport. Nope. Scraped the side of my mirror. Worse, it's the driver's side, that I should have been able to see. White paint on my silver mirror. Ugh. I buffed out most of the paint and the scratches aren't all that deep but I still feel awful. I should have taken better care of my baby.
I know it's just a car. I get attached to my cars. It's not just a status symbol. Besides, this is the first time I've gotten to pick what car I drove. We bought it new, so I could have anything I wanted. Buying a used car, you have fewer options, depending on what somebody wants to sell and what condition it's in.
