I actually went somewhere! And had an alcoholic beverage!
Agua Verde is a great little coastal-style Mexican place by the UW that is known for their margaritas, excellent food, and lousy service. I fantasize about them everytime I get take out lunch during the week. But Wednesday night we met my friend and her boyfriend (on 2 weeks leave from the Army; stationed in Iraq) for dinner and we all sampled the beverages.
Venezia and I each had the Margarita Fresa and it was very tasty. Ryan tried the Margarita Toronja and Nigel had a couple top-shelf margaritas of some sort or another. Next time I want to try the tuna-rita. Some of the salsas are free, but the Salsa Mexicana and the Guacamole are extra and they're both worth it. How good is the guac? I didn't even like avacados until I tried theirs.
It's a festive atmosphere with brightly colored walls and a screened porch. You can rent kayaks from the lower level which is on the ship canal. It's very popular so be prepared to wait for a table and don't even think of putting your name on the list until your entire party is there. And you don't get to linger at your table -- you have plenty of time to linger while you're waiting to be served! But afterwards you can go outside to a little park area right next door and watch ducks and kayakers on the canal.
