At the beginning of last weeks I gave myself a 2 week deadline to finish a project (i.e., tomorrow's the day). This morning I wasn't positive I'd finish in time. By lunch I was even more convinced I wouldn't since I ran into a roadblock on one of the major features I was developing and couldn't find anyone who could help.
But I figured it out myself and as of 5 minutes ago, the code is done (minus testing).
I'm totally seriously happy on two levels. There is of course the accomplishment of getting it done. Then there's the fact that I was able to look at the work that needed to be done, evaluate what it would entail, and come up with a reasonable and achievable deadline.
Actually, make that three levels. As far as anyone knows, I've still got work to do on it. Sounds like I have myself a free day tomorrow (which, honestly, will probably mostly be spent making minor tweaks, bug fixes, and optimizations).
