One of my co-workers has a son who went to Pepperdine. They had some corperate speakers during one of their job fair thingys. One speaker talked about the best companies to work for and then the worst. SBC topped the list of the worst companies to work for. I will miss the pay ($25/hr) and my co-workers, but not the job itself. The sentance I missed was one asking non-published (not listed in phone book for 411) customers permission to telemarket them.
I was hoping to stick it out until the end of the year when the rumor mill says our office will close (so I could get the buy-out), but, alas, twas not meant to be.
I have said it all along, I LOVE the customer service aspect of the job, but HATE the sales and the forcing sales down people's throats. I just don't have the heart to offer some poor old lady caller id when she has told me she is eating cat food until her SSI check comes (and yes, this has happened).
I can easily go back to retail, but for now I get to be a Mommy (with a capital M) again, and that is my favorite job of all.
