Welcome to the iVerse, Alex and Lani! Gabba Gabba, and all that.
Heheh, I'm happy with the new Netflix pricing. I get a $3 deduction in my DVD-only plan. I'm such a tech retard that I don't have a wireless network at home, with no way to "stream" content to my big display unit. Watching movies on my computer screen is not nearly as much fun, and I'm rarely in such a hurry to see something that I can't wait a few days for it to arrive in the mail.
Ah, the rare advantage of being an old man! I still watch DVDs!
On the other hand, I'm considering cancelling Netflix because they now distribute "rental" discs with no extras, and not the identical discs you can buy in stores. If I happen to like a movie, I really want to watch the filmmakers' commentary. With that option gone, I'm not keen to rent nearly as many titles. I know this isn't Netflix's decision; it's being forced on them by the studios. But the price change is no different; the studios have increased their prices, and Netflix is passing them on. But I conduct business with Netflix, not the studios. If I find I'm barely renting things anymore (and I'm very close to that now), I'll just quit being a customer.
