It's amazing how many CM's know sign language- when Tori was six, during our first DL trip, Cinderella signed 'pretty' to her, and she was just amazed that a princess knew ASL. Later, during another trip, she was pin trading at a shop in Toon Town, and it was so noisy she couldn't hear anything. A CM saw me signing to her, and he wound up spending about 20 minutes signing and trading pins with her. It was so cool- these seem like little things to the hearing world, but it means so much to the Deaf/HOH community. And it is beautiful to watch- I am always in awe of people who are fluent in sign, as it is not an easy language to learn. We used a mix of SEE sign and ASL at home, so our signing is probably confusing to those who only do one or the other.
