Nah, it was meant to be seen right then. We were talking about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's career in the lobby after seeing midnight Batman, and I ended up really wanting to see Hesher.

Well, on the way out of the theater, there was a line of people waiting to get in to the middle-of-the-night show. My companion mentioned a similar situation walking by a queue of incoming audience after a screening of Star Trek Generations when her friend blurted out, "Oh my god, I can't believe they killed Kirk!" They had to make a run for it.

One total 405 freeway closure and one exit closure (mine, ugh) later, when I finally got home from Irvine at about 4:30 a.m., I flipped on the TV - and right that second appeared the scene in Generations where Kirk gets killed.

So ... when I was awakened by an earthquake in the middle-of-the-night less than a week later to find Hesher just then starting - I took it as a sign.

Not a very good movie, as it turned out. But there's no way I wouldn't have watched it at that moment.
