Hmm, not sure I agree with that observation. The game you commented on ended a streak of 11 games with 3 or more runs (including 9 with 5 or more). They've averaged more than 4.3 rpg in August (not stellar, but better than their 3.9 rpg season average).

They ran into a couple strong pitchers having great nights, lost Monday due a couple bad breaks, and lost last night due to starting a pitcher with a career ERA well over 4.0. Not the best timing for a drop off, but 2 cold games at the plate don't amount to a trend, yet.
