It's only Joy if you get the middle spot - otherwise you get flung off first.

I love all of the old machinery in there, but the Turkey Trot remains my favourite (sometimes called a Cakewalk)

In the olden days, Sonny, they used to have it going a lot faster than they do now (for OHS reasons, I guess)

Another memory of the Joy Wheel is friction burns on elbows and forearms, especially when it had been newly polished. Either keep your hands crossed against your chest when dismounting or wear long sleeves.

There's a long passageway that you take to enter that starts high up at the front of the building, and it runs all the way around the edge of the building on the inside. It has shuffle-boards, and blowers and rollers. Half the entertainment was watching everyone making their way around this obstacle course.
