Animation
Adam and Dog - Fine
Fresh Guacamole - A fine visual gimmick. Strongest reaction from the crowd, but still, just one joke and less than two minutes and made by some guy who goes by the ultra-annoying PES (him and McG can be tied together in a sack).
Head Over Heels - Good use of the freedom and animation provides. Somewhat on the nose.
Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare" - I just didn't think it was very good.
Paperman - Perfectly fine and I know a lot of people really like it, but it just didn't connect for me.
So I guess I'd go with Head Over Heels.
Live Action
Asad - Liked it. Unexpected payoff at the end. Does nothing to hide the complete breakdown of society in Somalia without dwelling on it.
Buzkashi Boys - Boring but interesting to see something of Kabul. Seeing that it was part of a grant from the U.S. State Department did make me curious about the project's history.
Curfew - Nothing wrong with what was on the screen but I apparently didn't get whatever they wanted me too.
Death of a Shadow - Most interesting of the bunch. Also the one that most seemed like a demo reel hoping to get turned into a longer movie.
Henry - Well acted but also well examined territory. Yes, yes, getting old sucks.
I'd go with Death of a Shadow or Asad, not sure which.
