Okay, a little late on the trip report, but last month we took a family vacation to San Diego. The three of us, plus my sister, brother-in-law, and 5 year old niece.
My plan was to do 3 parks (Zoo, Sea World, Safari) with a 4th day to do something more relaxing (hang out at Balboa park, maybe catch a Padres game...anything but walk and stand in lines all day). But my sister really wanted to do Legoland too. So what we ended up with was 4 days, 4 parks.
I'll let the photos do most of the talking, but for how grueling of a schedule that was, it went SPECTACULARLY. Yes, we were completely wiped at the end of each day (and beginning of the next), but it didn't stop us. The kids had a great time. Theo was more engaged and brave than he's ever been in a theme park setting. I mean, he spent all day at the zoo totally excited by the prospect of riding the sky buckets. And we even managed to squeeze a visit to Old Town.
The time at the hotel was even a highlight. We got a pair of adjoining rooms, each with a separate room for the kids...with bunk beds (or bonk beds, per Theo)! The kids were thrilled to have bunk beds, and we were thrilled to be able to put them to sleep, shut the door, and hang out as 4 adults.
As I said elsewhere...4 days, 4 parks, 0 fatalities. A total success!
Now for the picture show. I got it down to a mere ~50/day. Totally reasonable, right?
