I'm ashamed to admit that until tonight I was a 36yo nerd virgin. No longer. I have soldered!
Been meaning to turn Theo's "traffic light lamp" from a box with colored plastic and some bulbs into an actual controlled traffic light. Tonight was the night. Whipped up a simple control loop on my Arduino. A few LEDs, resistors, and a bare minimum of swearing later (only screwed up the circuitry once and the soldering once), voila!
