Drink Happy 67th Disneyland

I know I last planned to visit the park for the 65th, but the pandemic got in the way. Post-pandemic, and the price increase, the reservation system, the pay to play fast-pass, and the park seems a stranger to me. Add the influx of Star Wars and Marvell and I feel even more alienated as those worlds are steeped in far more folklore and cannon than the generic genres of the lands and the fairy tales they were based on. The park evolves as it’s audience does. The things I miss, we’re as much a product of the time as well as place. Still, that moment peeking on the 50th, some 17 years ago created lasting friendships and experiences that transcended the parks and the intent of the Walt Disney Company. Cheers Disneyland, perhaps I’ll make it back for a future anniversary and celebrate my nostalgia if nothing else.
